Helen Alice sews

Helen Alice started sewing in her mum's basement at 13, with help from her mum to learn the basics. From there she found a love for sewing and has been always trying to improve her work, and level up her skills since. She’s made over 70+ costumes, from a range of sources and costume styles.

Helen then studied Contour Fashion, which helped her become a specialist maker for sportswear and Corsetry. Most of her costumes focus on these skills, with corset making being a key aspect, as she makes corsets for both herself and drag clients.

After time working in the bridal industry, Helen decided to focus her skills on high end couture sewing, keeping this high quality in mind when making all her costumes. “What would Dior do?” is her motto for costume making, as well as “Throw your overlocker in a lake”.

Helen has been in the UK cosplay community for a long time, and she has represented the UK overseas multiple times in both teams and flying solo! She loves competitions as it pushes people to always work harder and try out new skills, as well as the community it builds, of people who just really love their craft.

Her skills are not just sewing, as she has a background in wig making, millenary, prop making, 3D printing, various CAD skills and jewellery making
