Tim Pilcher & Dave Gibbons

Dave Gibbons is a renowned comics artist and writer who has worked with the biggest publishers on both sides of the Atlantic. He has lent his talents to iconic characters such as Superman, Batman, Dr. Strange, The Hulk, and many others. In collaboration with writer Frank Miller, Gibbons co-created “Give Me Liberty” and “Martha Washington Goes to War.”

However, Dave’s biggest contribution to the world of comics remains “Watchmen,” his collaboration with writer Alan Moore. The graphic novel has sold millions of copies and was adapted into a critically acclaimed film in 2009, followed by an award-winning television series in 2019. Dave’s memoir of a life in comics, “Confabulation: An Anecdotal Autobiography,” will be released on March 4, 2023.

Tim Pilcher, on the other hand, is an accomplished writer, editor, and publisher. He has worked as an assistant editor at DC Comics' Vertigo imprint, where he contributed to groundbreaking titles such as “The Extremist Enigma,” “Face,” “The Mystery Play,” and many others. Tim is the author of over 20 books on comics, including the “The Complete Cartooning Course,” “The Essential Guide to World Comics,” and the “Little Book of Vintage” series.

Tim is also a renowned scholar of erotic comics, having contributed essays to “Humanoids’ Eros Gone Wild” and “Fantagraphics’ The Complete Crepax Collection.” He wrote the bestselling “Erotic Comics: A Graphic History Volumes 1 & 2” and co-wrote “Charlie Adlard: Drawings + Sketches.” His most recent contribution to the world of comics is the Eisner-nominated “How Comics Work” with Dave Gibbons, which he also edited.
